Dr Pradhanang of Nepal Partipated in The Business Seminar in Virginia 
 

Dr Surendra Bhakta Pradhnang, Father of Village Tourism in Nepal and Chairperson of Kathmandu Research Centre recently participated in the Business Seminar held in Covington, Virginia at the Best Western Hotel. Dr Pradhanang who is the renowned economist and tourism expert of Nepal attained the tourism related seminar with full enthusiasm and zeal. 

The seminar was sponsored by the Alleghany Highlands Economic Development Corporation, Dabney S.Lancaster Community College, the Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commmerce, Roanake Regional Small Business Development Center, U.S.Small Business Administration and Virginia Business Development Center. 

The objective of the seminar was to focus on making more money to small business owners through small business growth. 

At the beginning, Herb Slaydon, the Business Expert of the Alleghany Highlands Economic Development Corporation welcomed to all participants and introduced Marc Wilson who is the retail industry consultant. 

In the seminar, there were discussions on problems and prospects of small business owners in Virginia. Actually, independent retailers and restaurants are the heart and soul of the Alleghany Highlands. But they have to face unique challenges and opportunities in terms of inventory control, advertisement, merchandising and staffing in competition with big box stores. 

At the end of the seminar, those attended the seminar freely talked with one to other and consulted with Retail Consultant, Marc Wilson on how to market and advertise, make business a shopping destination, building business brand, promotion of sales in the poor economy, window displays and merchandise strategy. 

Dr Pradhanang cordially introduced with the participants came from different business and tourism associated disciplines. David Kleppinger, Executive Director of the Alleghany Highlands Economic Development Corporation introduced Dr Pradhanang of Nepal to Marc Wilson highlighting Dr Pradhanang’s outstanding contribution on Nepal’s Village Tourism and economics. He autographed book ‘Village The New Tourist Destination of Nepal: Nepal’s Village Tourism’ at the Alleghany Highlands Economic Development Corporation, added Kleppinger. 

Finally, a photograph was taken for a good memory marked as a valuable event held.
